Valarie De La Garza is a leader in strategic communications and social change. In her four years as CEO, Fenton doubled in size. She is the agency’s first woman and person of color CEO. Fenton leads the industry in diversity with 50% of the agency representing people of color. Fenton's clientele includes Hyundai, Stop AAPI Hate and Black Voters Matter.
Before joining Fenton, she led communications for the California Community Foundation. Valarie began her career working for the nation’s first Latino PR firms, helping to establish Latino communications as the expectation, not the exception.
She is a highly skilled strategist and team builder with expertise in marketing, community outreach and crisis communications.
She serves on the board of directors for Homeboy Industries and PR Council.
Valarie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UCLA, where she was the first Latina editor-in-chief of The Daily Bruin in its history.
