Shira Center is Vice President of Innovation & Strategic Initiatives at Boston Globe Media Partners, where she leads AI governance, strategic growth, and digital transformation across an 800-person media organization. Her work focuses on integrating AI into workflows, products, and operations in ways that strengthen public-interest journalism. She has led enterprise-wide training and adoption efforts, secured external funding to advance AI capabilities, and helped build scalable frameworks for responsible use.Her two-decade career in media spans reporting and leadership roles at The Boston Globe, Politico, Roll Call, and National Journal, with a foundation in political journalism and audience engagement. She is a frequent speaker on AI adoption, media transformation, and leadership.Shira serves on the board of Transition House, a Cambridge-based nonprofit that provides shelter, support, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, and on the Environmental League of Massachusetts Advisory Council. She holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and an MBA from Yale School of Management.
