Director, Native American Center for Health Professions, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health

Danielle Yancey brings over 20 years of experience in education access and workforce development. She is Director of the Native American Center for Health Professions at UW–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, advancing recruitment of health professions students and fostering education, research, and partnerships with Native communities. Previously, she coordinated Career Pathways opportunities at UW Health, assisting with the creation of a new workforce development department, and served as Tribal Liaison for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, building employment opportunities and capacity with Tribal communities. Danielle co-founded Spirit of a Woman and co-leads Indigenous Girls Rock Camp, empowering youth through music. Her career centers on collaboration with Tribal communities, educational institutions, and nonprofits to promote economic development and partnerships. Raised on the Menominee reservation, Danielle holds UW–Madison degrees in Women’s Studies and Social Welfare, an MS in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Sustainability Leadership certificate from Edgewood College.
