Damara brings nearly two decades of experience leading issue campaigns, lobbying efforts, and strategic communications initiatives that drive meaningful change. She has advised major brands, nonprofits, foundations, and advocacy organizations across technology, media, civil rights, and social justice, helping them navigate complex policy environments and strengthen their public impact. Damara served as a member of the Culture Caucus at the Kennedy Center, collaborating with artists and Afrofuturists to explore technology policy issues. She has also served on the advisory board for the Center for Democracy and Technology, and has overseen large-scale civic engagement programs that reached hundreds of thousands of voters. Damara currently serves on the boards of the Center for Cultural Power and the Voter Participation Center. In her role as Executive Vice President of BG Advocacy, Damara provides cross-functional expertise in advocacy campaigns, partnerships, and policy communications, developing tailored strategies to help clients amplify their most important messages.
